My first thought would be that it would be a disaster! However, he seems pretty smart about some things, like getting me to do what he wants me to do. Maybe he could get something done. However, the capital would have to move to Wyoming before he would even consider it.
Sammy, you are now President of the United States.
You don’t need to hide. It’s really true!
Oh, I can tell that you are REALLY EXCITED about this opportunity.
You’re going to have to give up some of your activities, such as ghost writing for me.
You’ll have to have an office staff
who hopefully won’t play around too much and get their jobs done.
Then there’s the matter of Congress. Hopefully, some cats will be elected that can do something for the country instead of being so dysfunctional. (Well, maybe not)
You’ll also have to work during the day most of the time and not the middle of the night.
Oh, let’s see. You’re going to need to have the Secret Service around you all the time.
Now that you have your staff, what are you doing to do for the country?
Homes for everyone.
Plenty of things to play with.
Food for everyone.
That’s pretty basic stuff, Sammy. Is there anything you do for us humans?
Oh, I see. You can listen to us and see what we need. That’s very nice.
It looks like the interview is over. He’s giving me that knock-it-off look.
Guess we’ll have to wait until the “President” is ready to talk to us again.
Have a wonderful President’s Day on Monday, everyone.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. It’s not only love between a couple, but love and respect for all people and even animals that you cherish. So let’s celebrate this special day with pictures. No words needed in some cases.
Because I love my boys and they love me, I make this promise.
I know this was short, but I’m sure you get the message. Pets are family and deserve the best we can do for them. Have a wonderful Valentines Day, readers, and I LOVE the fact that you read my blog.
A new, furry, lovable kitten is always fun, but sometimes that fun wears off when the holidays are over. I’ve always believed that if you’re going to be a pet owner, you need to be a responsible pet owner. It breaks my heart to see animals mistreated because their owners are tired of them. All of us who are animal lovers know how precious these little lives are and that they deserve good care like the rest of our family.
If the animal was a gift that you don’t want anymore, then please find it a home where it can be happy or put it in a no-kill shelter. The shelters are full of pets looking for a forever home. Some people prefer to adopt an older animal rather than getting a young one. An older cat is not as mischievous as a kitten can be nor are they as active.
Of course, who could turn this down?
If you’re up for some adventure, you could always adopt a feral cat. It took my Sammy a long time to learn to trust humans, but the patience was worth it. He is the most lovable lap cat now and just gives me so much joy.
No matter which method that new cat arrived, they will return your love many times over.
Through all of this, however, you have to remember one basic fact. No one owns a cat!
As I attend my mother’s Memorial Service today, my thoughts are about love. She loved God, her church and her family. Although she wouldn’t admit it to me, she also loved my two male cats. Today this blog is about a cat’s love in tribute to Mom.
Some cats are just irresistible!
Their purrs are good for your health.
Their love is very comforting.
They can be very patient with you.
They show their love in many ways.
And finally, some advice.
Thank you, Mom, for everything.
Right now my boys have it pretty good! They don’t have to worry about fixing a leaky basement, watering the yard, taking care of the plants, cooking, etc. Summer is such a busy time around here because I have a HUGE back yard. Even when my mother was alive, it was up to me since she was in her 90’s and not really able to keep up with it. Don’t mind it, but it’s hard to get back in gear after not doing anything all winter. Found a picture I liked about being a cat so will share with you.
1. Free Food
Hey, free is good. Too bad the grocery store doesn’t think so!
2. Free Rent
No house payments, taxes, and insurance to think about either!
3. Sleep As Long As You Want To
Would love to sleep in more some days, but always wake up early. Darn!
4. Look Great With No Effort
Don’t have to spend any time making yourself look good.
5. Toes Look Like Beans
Don’t know if this is a pressing reason to be a cat, but it’s an interesting concept.
6. License To Kill
Based on these six reasons, would you like to be a cat? I definitely like the first four reasons. Not too sure about number five and definitely not number six. Let us hear from you. In review, here are six reasons to be a cat.
Sammy usually went for a walk in the afternoon when the weather was nice. He would check out the neighbor’s yard to see if the dog had time to play. Then he would stop at the park to smell the flowers, flop around in the grass, and chase the bugs. If it was sunny and warm, he liked to lie on his back and let the sun warm up his belly. The last stop before going back home was the waterfront where some of the dock hands would feed him fresh fish. Yum!!! That was worth the walk!
On a particularly hot day, the dog didn’t feel like playing. Sammy didn’t have much energy either because of the heat. He was slowly making his way to the park when he noticed that a rabbit was walking with him. He’d never seen this rabbit before and thought the rabbit would just go on its way. No, the rabbit kept up with him until they got to the park. Sammy found a nice, shady place to lie down. However, the rabbit disappeared. Sammy went on to the waterfront and back home by himself.
The next day the rabbit was back walking with him again. This time, Sammy asked him who he was and where he came from. The rabbit told Sammy that he actually lived in the same yard with the dog. He would always hide when Sammy came around. He was curious about where Sammy would go and finally decided to find out. From that day on, they walked together. The dock workers enjoyed the rabbit too and would always have fresh lettuce to feed him.
