What Do Cats Think About the World Series?

Standard

Several cats in the town of Mudville decided they should have a baseball team. They had watched their humans laughing, yelling, jumping up and down and doing all kind of crazy things when they watched the World Series. It looked like a lot of fun! They called themselves the Mudville Mousers. It was tough to get the right cats to play the different areas of the field, but they finally did it. Kirby was the pitcher because it looked like he was quite good with his paws on AND off the field.

Kneading

Muffins was the catcher because that’s what he could do!

The Reflexes of a Cat

Next to be chosen were the outfielders. Their names were Huey, Louie, and Dewey.

Muggles was chosen to be the shortstop because he was so talented.

Cuddles played second base,

and Ginger was on third base because nobody wanted to mess with her.

The day and time for the game with the Farthington Felines was set, but the game was never played. The Felines never showed up because they were taking a nap. When the Mousers were interviewed about how they felt about their game and the World Series, these were the results.

Well, so much for that. Maybe one of these days these cats will get their act together and play a game. In the meantime, I’m sure they’re enjoying their naps!

Cats and Baseball

Standard

Tuesday was the All-Star game which was very exciting if you like baseball. Some of the greats were honored before the game with a standing ovation. The League my favorite team is part of didn’t win, but it was still fun to see all the great talent that’s out there. A little less known game is the All-Paws game which was played by kitty cats. That gave me the idea of forming a baseball team of my own. Asked Kirby and Sammy if they wanted to be part of the team, but Kirby thought that was too much work. Sammy said he was comfortable in his hiding place and would have to think about it.

Guess that means they’ll just be by-standers if they can stay awake that long! Here are my choices.

Claude has good coordination skills, so he will be the pitcher.

This Looked So Easy

Ike looks comfortable in the catcher’s position.

Missing the Remote Control and a Beer

Now we need someone on the bases. How about these three?

Wez Cool

Also need a shortstop. Thought this one would be purrrfect because that look would stop anyone short!

Mom's A Grouch!

Fielders need good eye/hand coordination too, so we’ll put Jose in left field.

I Big Scary Monster

Merlin will play center.

The Spider Was This Big

One of the triplets can play right field. Should it be Curly, Larry, or Moe?

What Cha Doin

Of course, as with the All-Star game, there are alternates. Max could be on one of the bases since he likes to steal things.

Black Cats Don't Steal Your Heart

We also need a coach to plan the strategy for the game.

Doing Research

The coach needs an assistant to help him keep things organized.

Ad Ass Cat

Let’s not forget the Umpire!

Officer Cat

Of course, the press is always there to record the whole thing.

My Assistant

Think I have “all the bases covered” now. Hope you enjoy the game! Let me know which position is your favorite one!
